Nestled among the historic, tree-lined streets of the West Village, the Astrid & Miyu boutique presents a masterclass in modern retail design. The storefront, with its classic NYC facade and weathered green copper patina, opens up into an interior that completely envelops you in warmth. For this shoot, the focus was on translating the inviting, high-end atmosphere of the jewelry and piercing studio into a visual narrative that feels less like a standard commercial walkthrough and more like an editorial spread you might find in a luxury travel magazine.
Designing with Warmth and Texture
The interior of the Astrid & Miyu space is immediately defined by its sweeping architectural arches and rich, terracotta-painted walls. To faithfully render the mood of the room, the editing process leaned heavily into a warm amber color grading that accentuates the organic tones of the wood cabinetry and the plush, velvet seating.
By allowing the shadows to breathe with slightly lifted blacks and incorporating a subtle, analog-inspired film grain, the final images capture the true, in-person ambiance of the studio—cozy, intimate, and decidedly upscale. It is a space designed to make clients feel entirely at ease while they browse, and the photography needed to reflect that exact comforting density.
