Pushing Limits: A Commercial Lifestyle Photoshoot at V Fitness
Shooting a commercial fitness campaign requires a careful balance between showcasing the architectural design of the space and capturing the authentic, raw energy of the athletes. For this recent project with V Fitness, the objective was to deliver a high-impact visual narrative that highlights both their state-of-the-art facilities and the diverse range of training options available.
The resulting gallery leans heavily into an editorial, magazine-style aesthetic, utilizing controlled lighting to emphasize form, focus, and movement across different environments within the club.
Sculpting with Light in the Weight Room
The main cardio and free-weight floors provided a fantastic, moody canvas. The dark chevron-patterned walls and sleek black equipment called for a high-contrast visual approach to match the intensity of the workouts.
Highlighting Form: To make the subjects pop against the dark background during heavy dumbbell rows and incline presses, the lighting setup relied on directional modifiers. Using stripboxes helped chisel the subjects' features, accentuating muscle definition and adding a glossy, premium finish to the Hammer Strength and Iron Grip equipment.
Cardio Focus: Capturing the treadmills in action meant freezing the runners' motion while maintaining the sleek, glowing displays of the consoles, ensuring the V Fitness branding remained a strong anchor in the background.
Capturing Explosive Energy in the Studio
Transitioning into the functional training studio required a complete shift in atmosphere. The bright, white-walled space—equipped with ballet barres, mirrors, and TRX straps—demanded a cleaner, high-key look.
This space was all about capturing explosive, dynamic movement:
The sharp, mid-action impact of focus-mitt boxing drills.
The suspended, mid-air freeze of a jump rope sequence and medicine ball throws.
The synchronized tension of TRX suspension training.
The Transitional Moments
A complete lifestyle gallery needs breathing room between the high-intensity shots. Incorporating intentional motion blur as the talent walks through the pristine, bright-white locker room corridor adds a cinematic quality to the final layout. It serves as a perfect transitional element, illustrating the bridge between the intense workout and the cool-down.
